Mentoring Club Students Served Breakfast at Homeless Shelter in Minneapolis, MN

The Play To Your Strengths team had an early morning on Monday, December 31st. Seven adult volunteers and eleven Mentoring Club students woke before 5:00 am to serve breakfast at Simpson House in downtown Minneapolis.

Simpson House is a shelter that houses, supports, and advocates for those who are experiencing homelessness. The students represented three of our middle school Mentoring Clubs and worked hard to prepare a hot breakfast for the residents. After serving the food, students had an opportunity to eat and talk with some of the residents. We heard valuable life stories and were reminded that one of the best ways to discover our Strengths is by serving others. We look forward to returning to serve a meal at Simpson House in the future.
